Why did Kakashi kill Rin? 2024
Rin is a minor supporting character from the anime and manga Naruto. She was the female student of Minato Namikaze’s squad along with young Kakashi and Obito Uchiha.
Friends Rin was also Obito’s childhood friend and love interest. Haruhi Nanao voices her in the Japanese version, who also expresses Mai Valentine in Yu-Gi-Oh!
Kakashi soon rescued her. Surmising the valid reason she was made a jinchūriki, Rin — unable to take her own life asked Kakashi to kill her to protect the village, which Kakashi refused, stating that he had vowed to Obito to protect her by any means necessary.
Rin developed a crush on Kakashi while training because Kakashi was a genius, skipping ahead of his classmates. Every time Kakashi was promoted, Rin would plan a surprise party for him.
It has been confirmed that Rin has feelings for Kakashi. Although it is never confirmed whether Kakashi loved her in return, her feelings would further the already great remorse and anguish Kakashi felt over her death.
Rin jumped in front of Kakashi’s Chidori because the hidden mist made her a jinchuuriki of the three tails Isobu, fearing that she wouldn’t be able to contain the three tails and it was going on a rampage through the hidden leaf as the most wanted.
The tailed beasts can never indeed die. When Rin was killed, the three tails were “destroyed” in a sense, but like matter, the chakra that makes up the tailed beasts cannot be destroyed. It just changes forms. Instead of being a three-tailed turtle, Isobu became a ton of chakra that spread out everywhere.

Why did the Kakashi kill Rin episode?
Answer: When they were on a mission in the Hidden Mist, the Hidden Mist ninja captured Rin and made her into the three tails’ Jinchuuriki. Their purpose was for Rin to return to the village, where they’d undo the Seal, kill Rin, and have the three tails rampage on the Hidden Leaf.
Why did Rin love Kakashi?
Rin developed a crush on Kakashi while training because Kakashi was a genius, skipping ahead of his classmates. Every time Kakashi was promoted, Rin would plan a surprise party for him.
Why did Kakashi kill his lover?
Sometime after the events at Kannabi Bridge, Rin was secretly kidnapped by Madara Uchiha under the guise of Kirigakure’s doing [8] and had Isobu sealed into her.
She was also branded with the Forbidden Individual Curse Tag and programmed so that the tailed Beast would be let loose within Konoha once she and Kakashi returned to the village. Kakashi soon rescued her.
To ensure the tailed Beast’s retrieval, sent various jōnin and Anbu-level Kiri shinobi to “chase” after them. She was surmising the valid reason she was made a jinchūriki, Rin. Unable to take her own life — asked Kakashi to kill her to protect the village, which Kakashi refused, stating that he had vowed to Obito to protect her by any means necessary.
It was an accident which he honestly tried to avoid. At the time, he was able to control Chidori. As he charged at a hidden mist Shinobi, Rin jumped in front of his Chidori, killing Rin. He did not want this to happen and tried to save Rin; Rin knew there was no hope of saving her.
Why did RIN choose to die?
When Rin realized that she had been made a Jinchuriki of the three tails and that this was all a plot to destroy Konoha, she asked Kakashi to kill her. Later, Rin decided to commit Suicide by intercepting Kakashi’s Chidori, which was meant to hit a Kirigakure ninja.
Rin was made into the Jinchuuriki of the 3 Tails by Madara, acting like she was from Kirigakure, only she was also Sealed with the “Forbidden Individual Curse Tag. Hence, she got into Konoha, Isobu would immediately be brought out; she was also Sealed, so she could not commit Suicide.
Even if Kushina, Minato, Sarutobi, and others were there and stopped it, its mere presence would have caused destruction and panic. However, Rin figured this out and asked Kakashi to kill her; he refused, but later on, in a fight with some Kiri-Nin sent to chase down Rin, Rin jumped in front of his Chidori, committing Suicide the only way she could.

So Rin decided she needed to die. You can debate if that was necessary; if done right, she could have stayed out of the village and brought Minato/Jiraiya/Kushina to fix her Seal, so either she’s out of harm’s way when things go down, or she’s fixed, but it was war, they were young.
Their purpose was for Rin to return to the village, where they’d undo the Seal, kill Rin, and have the three tails rampage on the Hidden Leaf. Knowing that Rin jumped in front of Kakashi’s Chidori, he charged at a hidden Mist ninja to kill herself and foil their plans.
Rin developed a crush on Kakashi while training because Kakashi was a genius, skipping ahead of his classmates. Every time Kakashi was promoted, Rin would plan a surprise party for him.
Kakashi DIDN’T kill Rin.
Rin wanted Kakashi to kill her because they couldn’t escape their enemy. The enemy couldn’t kill Kakashi, so they went after Rin. Kakashi went to kill an enemy with his Lightning Blade, and Rin jumped in front of it. Kakashi didn’t kill Rin and assisted it in Suicide.
Friends, Kakashi did not kill Rin. The Hidden Mist had sealed the 3-Tailed Beast into her, and if she were to return to the Hidden Leaf Village, the Beast would have gone on a rampage. Kakashi’s Chidori was activated, and Rin intentionally ran into it, killing herself. Rin Nohara committed Suicide.
It has been confirmed that Rin has feelings for Kakashi. Although it is never confirmed whether Kakashi loved her in return, her feelings would further the already great remorse and anguish Kakashi felt over her death.
It is the truth.
It goes back to when Madara was alive. Here is the story in points.
- Friends, Madara wanted a pawn to fulfill his Eye of The Plan.
- Madara intentionally tried his best to make Obito his pawn.
- Madara sent a team of White Zetsu with a fake appearance of Cloud Shinobi.
- These fake Cloud White Zetsu Shinobi kidnapped Rin.
- They planted 3 Tails inside her. They planned to unleash the beast when she reached Konoha.
- Kakashi tried his best and successfully saved Rin. Rin told him to leave as she knew Konoha’s danger if she returned to the village. She asked Kakashi to kill her.
- But Kakashi refused. He made his move with Lightning Blade to kill the fake Cloud Shinobi.
- At that exact moment, Rin jumped in between to save Konoha and prevent the three-tail explosion. However, unintentionally, the lightning blade went through Rin.
- Meanwhile, White Zetsu told Obito to save his friend and love.
- Obito reached the moment Kakashi’s lightning blade was through Rin’s chest.
And the result was this.
It was perfect planning by Madara to turn Obito into a pawn.
So Long
RIP Rin Nohara, Obito Uchiha.
I am the reason.
Behind deaths Forgive meters Rin love Kakashi?
I’m surprised by the number of people arguing against this, to be honest.
Canonically, yes, Rin had feelings for Kakashi. It’s nice to imagine a fairy tale ending where she falls in love with Obito, the guy who loves her and deserves a win. Still, we see in Kakashi’s back story that she was in love with Kakashi — or, at the very least, infatuated with him.
The evidence lies in her interactions with him. With all the blushing whenever he does something relatively impressive, her almost fangirl-ish cheering when she feels he needs support, and arranging private gift promotion parties behind his back — wall, it’s heavily implied.
As of this moment in the story, Kakashi Hatake is 100% single. While many fans seem to have mixed feelings due to a girl named Hanare, Kakashi is canonically single in both the manga and anime series.
Why did Kakashi kill Rin?
At that age, it can’t be considered true love (most of the time, anyway), so I’d describe it as more of a childhood crush, but some romantic feelings were involved there.
It’s similar to everyone crushing on Sasuke — the girls are impressed by Kakashi’s talent and genius, and Rin is no different. So yes, Rin was attracted to Kakashi. How profound her feelings were, we’ll never know.
It was somewhat serious because not ten minutes after she and Kakashi witness Obito’s “death,” she hysterically confesses her love for Kakashi while he’s trying to defend her from Iwagakure shinobi.

(I mean, terrible timing, Rin. Obito just died, but she spoke in the heat of the moment — there’s truth in her words).
Kakashi turns her down because he knows Obito likes her, though unfortunately, I don’t think Rin ever realizes how much Obito cares for her.
If Obito, Rin, and Kakashi had all survived and lived happily ever after in Konoha with no crazy Madaras trying to ruin their lives, I think Rin would have ended up with Kakashi.
Not out of any personal bias, but honestly, look at how Kishimoto writes romance in Naruto — have you ever noticed the girl always gets the guy she likes?
Here are a few (simplified but accurate) examples:
- Sakura likes Sasuke, but Sasuke doesn’t like her. Sakura ends up with Sasuke.
- Hinata likes Naruto, but Naruto likes Sakura. Hinata ends up with Naruto.
- Ino likes Sai. Sai likes nobody. So, she ends up with Sai.
- (Ino liked Sasuke initially, but she changed her mind, so I’m counting it as her getting what she wants).
- Temari likes Shikamaru. Shikamaru likes Temari. Temari ends up with Shikamaru. (Okay, this one’s mutual).
- Anyway, you get the point. Rin would likely end up with Kakashi if you follow Kishi’s trend. Also, Kakashi’s team is hailed as the older version of Naruto’s team so Kakashi would be Sasuke, Rin would be Sakura, and Obito would be Naruto.
- Naruto has a crush on Sakura =, and Obito is passionate about Rin.
- Sakura ignores Naruto and goes for Sasuke = and Rin ignores Obito and goes for Kakashi.
- Naruto finds true love with Hinata = Obito finds true love with an unexpected soulmate.
So that’s my logic because Kishi likes to follow generalized formulae, but other opinions are welcome.
Why did Kakashi kill Rin? Facts in 2024
It was an accident which he honestly tried to avoid. At the time, he was able to control Chidori. As he charged at a hidden mist Shinobi, Rin jumped in front of his Chidori, killing Rin. He did not want this to happen and tried to save Rin; Rin knew there was no hope of saving her. So, she did what she felt was the only option.
Her decision led to the 4th war being a possibility. This is when Obito decides the Shinobi world is Hell. Rin killed herself because she was afraid of the three-tailed beast that was put inside her, worried that she might get controlled by this beast to destroy Konoha.
She wanted to break the seal in her heart with Kakashi’s Chidori, so while Kakashi was using his Chidori on some mist ninjas, she jumped into this Chidori and died.
She’s the one who ran to Kakashi to “save Konoha.” She was a Jinchuuriki kidnapped by some shinobis (of Kiri?) who wanted the power of the three tails. And she killed herself stupidly, even if she was safe.
Why did Kakashi kill Rin?
Well, she’s the one who destroys Konoha, almost the entire world, because Obito saw her death and lost hope.
Rin knew the Mist’s plan. Hence, she asked Kakashi to kill her. But Kakashi hesitated as he didn’t want to kill his comrade and not break his promise to his dear friend Obito Uchiha.
So, Rin decided to take it upon herself- When Kakashi was about to strike a Mist shinobi, Rin jumped in between and killed herself by Chidori. Indeed, a great shinobi, isn’t she? She sacrificed her life for the sake of her village!

Tailed Beasts don’t die when their host dies. Let me tell you the misconceptions about Jinchurikis.
The Tailed Beast inside Hosts is Not really inside them. Being a jinchuriki links the Tailed Beasts’ World ( where jinchuriki resides) and the Shinobi World. It’s actually like a preplaced summoning Jutsu.
Jinchuriki is the host of Tailed Beasts but not a bodily host. So even if the Jinchuriki dies, the beast won’t kill them. Tailed Beasts lose the link to get into the Shinobi world unless some previous precautions are taken to bring them back to this world.
Rin is the only known Jinchuriki to have died without the tailed beast first being extracted. As such, Isobu is the only known-tailed beast to have “died” and been revived. So, After the Death of Rin, Three-Tails ( Isobu ) went back to Tailed Beasts World, after which it was Manifested in Kirigakure, thus sealed into Yagura, a member of Kirigakure ( Village Hidden in the Mist ).

But I don’t understand why he had to kill her, why they couldn’t wait, e.g., for reinforcements to arrive. Is there some good reason it was better for her or the village? That she dies rather than to be captured by the Kiri-nin?
Kakashi technically killed Rin, but he doesn’t mean to. Rin felt and sensed differently, but she knew that the enemy messed with her so that she would destroy Konoha. She jumped in between Kakashi and the enemy to avoid harming Konoha. And that’s how she died.
Kakashi’s first official death occurred during the Third Shinobi World War when Team Minato faced Kakko, Taiseki, and Mahiru. While Obito and Minato killed the last two, Kakko ended up dying at the hands of Kakashi, again using Chidori.
